Two workshops targeting the Applicant Entity (AE) stakeholder group were implemented on the August 28th & 29th, 2007 as part of the EU-China CDM Facilitation Project. The 1-day workshops were held in Beijing on the general subject of UN accreditation and application procedures for Designated Operational Entity (DOE) status.

A workshop on UN Accreditation and Application Procedures targeting potential DOE Applicants was held in Beijing on August 28th, 2007. The workshop topics included information on the CDM market, the role of DOEs in the CDM project cycle, and the UN accreditation procedures and administration.

A workshop on UN Accreditation and Application Procedures targeting AEs that are currently participating in the application procedure was held in Beijing on August 29th, 2007. The workshop provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the UN accreditation procedure highlighting the application stages such as on-site assessments and witness project activities. Links to the UNFCCC DOE application forms and related information are provided below.

DOEs, as independent authorities, play an important role in the CDM project cycle. They provide services in the validation of project design documents and the verification of the CERs each CDM project produces. This training is part of a series of workshop and training activities facilitating the qualification of Chinese DOE Applicants and will take place throughout the 3 year course of the project. The next stage of the capacity building programme will be a series of workshops on Validation issues, which will take place in November 2007.
