June 28th 2007 - Project Public Launch Event, Asia Hotel, Beijing
DEVELOPMENT Solutions, in consortium with the Swedish Environmental Research Institute, IVL; TÜV Rheinland, Germany; and the Policy Research Center for Environment and Economy of SEPA (PRCEE), will officially launch the EU-China CDM Facilitation Project on Thursday 28th June at the Asia Hotel.
The 2.8 million Euro funded project, which will run until January 2010, provides direct support to the progressive development of China’s CDM through its research, capacity development, technical exchange and training activities. Technical cooperation will be established for Chinese government agencies, standards and certification companies and wider stakeholder groups allowing for a comprehensive and wide reaching dissemination of knowledge of CDM issues.
The event will be addressed by high level representatives from both the EU and the Chinese government including Mr. Nicholas Costello, First Counsellor, EU Delegation; Mr. Gao Guangsheng, Director General, Office of the National Coordination Committee on Climate Change, NDRC; Mr. Yue Ruisheng, Deputy Director General, Department of International Cooperation, SEPA.
