August 28th-30th 2007 - Applicant Entity Accreditation Workshop, PRCEE, Beijing
Two workshops targeting the Applicant Entity (AE) stakeholder group were implemented on the 28th and 29th of August, 2007 as part of the EU-China CDM Facilitation Project. The 1-day workshops were hosted by the PRCEE, SEPA with technical implementation provided by Professor Gunther Schock of TUV Rheinland, on the general subject of UN accreditation and application procedures for Designated Operational Entity (DOE) status. The first day, targeting identified potential AEs, an overview of the CDM and DOE market with a cost-benefits analysis as well as an introduction to the application procedures and forms. The second day, targeted at local AEs undergoing the accreditation process, provided a thorough overview of the UN accreditation process for DOE status with particular emphasis on on-site assessment and witness activity processes. All participants received one-on-one training through bilateral sessions held throughout the course of the week.
DOE’s, as independent authorities, play an important role in the CDM project cycle. They provide services in the validation of project design documents and the regular verification of the CERs each CDM project produces.
This training is part of a series of workshop and training activities targeting Chinese AE stakeholders during the 3 year course of the project. For more information on the workshops please see the standards and certification stakeholder section….
