December 17th-20th 2007 - DOE Validation Workshops II, Beijing
Workshops on DOE validations were implemented on November 14th-15th, and December 17th-20th 2007 as part of the EU-China CDM Facilitation Project. This event follows on from a two-day workshop on the UNFCCC accreditation process which was completed in August 2007.
The second round of workshops consisted of a number of bi-lateral sessions with each AE. It was held in Beijing on December 17th-20th 2007. Each workshop addressed practice validation reports completed by the DOE applicant, based on case studies disseminated at the first round of Validation Workshops. This was followed by a presentation of TÜV Rheinland best practice methodology.
DOEs, as independent authorities, play an important role in the CDM project cycle. They provide services in the validation of project design documents and the verification of the CERs each CDM project produces. This training is part of a series of workshop and training activities facilitating the qualification of Chinese DOE Applicants and will take place throughout the 3 year course of the project. The next stage of DOE Applicant training will be workshops addressing Verification procedures implemented over one and a half days in Beijing on March 4-5th 2008.
