Drug Uses
Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and tension motivated by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It may be used for other situations as advised by your doctor.
How Taken
Atarax comes in pills to take in orally. The ordinary daily dose for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg every day in parted doses. Daily dosage for children under 6 years of age is 50mg parted into several dosages.
Additional Information
Atarax may cause giddiness. These effects can worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Atarax with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
