Drug Uses
Cipro is used for treatment of bacterial infections. It can also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Take Cipro with a full glass of clear water as advised by your physician. Take Cipro with or without a meal. It is advised to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, don't take them within 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of healing. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.
More Information
Cipro can cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Cipro with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, call your physician. This drug should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your physician.
