Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for curing of seizures associated with epilepsy. It may also be used for treating nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin may also be used for other condition as prescribed by your doctor.
How Taken
Take Neurontin as directed by your physician. Take Neurontin with or without a meal. Don't take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within 2 hours before you take Neurontin. Do not suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You can have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new medicine, your physician will gradually lower your dose.
More Information
Neurontin can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Neurontin with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your physician. This pill should be used only by the patient for whom it has been directed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than suggested by your doctor.
