Drug Uses
Imodium is used for treating and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and decreasing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It may also be used for other conditions as recommended by your physician.
How Taken
Take Imodium as directed by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a food intake. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Do not use for more than [[two|2] days unless suggested by a doctor.
More Information
Imodium may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects can worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Imodium with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, ask your physician. This drug should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Don't take less or more or take it more often than advised by your physician.
