The first DOE traineeship in Cologne, with the participantion of TÜV and CMC, from 4 April to 30 May

The first traineeship for organisations participating in the Applicant DOEs training programme was held at TÜV Rheinland Headquarters in Cologne from 4 April to 30 May 2008. The staff from the China Environmental United Certification Center (CEC) participated in the traineeship in Cologne. The senior CDM auditor from TÜV provided the training courses. The traineeships aim at further strengthening the participants’ skills and knowledge of auditing, sectoral scopes, validation, and verification procedures presented at the Validation and Verification Workshops organised in Beijing in November and December 2007 and March 2008.

The traineeship provided hands-on skills and knowledge to the participants from the Applicant Entity. It enhanced the capacity of the participants’ organisation, and facilitated the progress of domestic DOE developments in China. On 15 April 2008, CEC was issued with Indicative Letter by the CDM accreditation Panel (CDM-AP), and has been recommended to EB to accredit. CEC started to provide validation and verification service for CDM projects at the end of 2008.
