The second DOE applicant traineeship in Cologne, with the participation of TÜV and CQC, from 7 July to 29 August

The second traineeship for organisations participating in the Applicant DOEs training programme was held at TÜV Rheinland Headquarters in Cologne from 7 July to 29 August. The staff from China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) participated in the traineeship in Cologne. The trainee, under the supervision of a senior TÜV Rheinland CDM Auditor, analysed the validation of a number of current CDM projects which were being implemented in a variety of different countries including Moldova, Cyprus and China. In addition, the trainee also participated in a number of events at the UNFCCC in Bonn, such as attending the EB 41 meeting at the UNFCCC in Bonn as well as accompanying site visits to the RheinEnergie AG power plant.

The traineeship provided hands-on skills and knowledge to the participant from Applicant Entity. It enhanced the capacity of participant organisation, and facilitated the progress of domestic DOE development in China. On 9 September 2008, CQC was issued with Indicative Letter by the CDM accreditation Panel (CDM-AP), and has been recommended to EB to accredit. At the end of 2008, CQC also started to provide validation and verification service for CDM projects.
