On September 4th 2008, the EU-China CDM Facilitation Project completed the fifty regional workshop in Yinchuan, Ningxia, under the joint organisation of the EU-China CDM Facilitation Project Team and Ningxia Environmental Protection Bureau. The workshop was chaired by Dr. Ren Yong, Deputy Director General of the Policy Research Center for Environment and Economy (PRCEE) of Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), Ms. Tian Chunxiu, Director of Division of General Affairs, PRCEE, MEP, and Si, Jitao, Director Assistant of Ningxia Environmental Protection Bureau. More than 150 participants, including the partners of EU-China CDM Facilitation Project, local officials from Ningxia, experts of Ningxia CDM Service Center, representatives from industries, and researchers from research institutes attended the workshop.

The workshop focused on CDM and the energy conservation programme, the application and approval procedure of CDM, the industrial experiences of CDM project validation and verification, DOE application and development, latest international carbon market and the risk analysis, as well as the integration of local energy conservation programme and other climate change strategies with CDM development in Ningxia. The workshop was successfully completed and achieved the project targets.
