November 12th 2007 - Regional Workshop, Kunming, Yunnan Province
On November 12th 2007, the EU-China CDM Facilitation Project implemented the first regional CDM workshop in Kunming, Yunnan Province.
The 1-day workshop addressed the current CDM situation in China, its future development, and CDM methodologies and their applicability in Yunnan Province.
Experts, including from companies who have implemented CDM projects in the region, provided information of a number of CDM related topics such as relevant information on P-CDM; CDM project implementing experiences, and guidelines on how to find reliable carbon partners.
More than 100 local government officials, Yunnan CDM Technical Service Centre staff, CDM project owners and developers attended. Ren Yong, Deputy Director General of the Environment and Economy (PRCEE) of SEPA, Li Liyan, Deputy Director General of the Climate Office of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and Li Shujie, Deputy Director General of Yunnan Provincial Science & Technology Department all presented at the workshop.
The Yunnan workshop is the first of a series of 10 regional workshops aimed at local stakeholders which will facilitate training and knowledge dissemination on different aspects of CDM to regional stakeholders in China. The next workshop will be held in Wuhan, Hubei Province on March 3rd 2008.
